Work began slowly because of the consistent and heavy rain so we make our 5th knitting table. Making the wall is quick if we have enough nets so more tables will help.

More tables
Everyone wants a go at knitting. People from the workshop pull together into darkness to provide another knitting table for everyone for tomorrows session.
Success
A proud group showing of our first completed section of netting.
Innovation
After a short bit of knitting the wires become very tangled and work becomes difficult. It was good to see everyone offering solutions. We roll up the wire solving the problem. Many other suggestions are made to improve the process. It’s good to see everyone really engaging in the process.
We begin teaching
Teaching begins. The enthusiasm flows through to today with everyone keen to see how the knitting technique is done. After a very short time everyone is offering each other guidance on how to best do it. Even people that are not attending the workshop get involved.
The tables are finished!!
After a lull in through the middle of the day and a bit of waiting, the carpenters arrive and we all work together to put the finishing touches to the tables. The excitement grew and everyone showed a lot of enthusiasm when we made our first piece of gabion netting. We worked into darkness to tweak a couple of things. We are now ready to start the workshop tomorrow. Hopefully all will go well.
